The NDN project team compiles and publishes this newsletter periodically to inform the community about recent activities, technical news, meetings, publications, presentations, code releases, and upcoming events. You can find these newsletters posted on the Named Data Networking Project blog.

Community Outreach

  • The 7th NDN Hackathon was the first remote hackathon which was held in October 20-21, 2018. This first remote hackathon had teams working on various hacks that would directly address NDN research needs, create new NDN tools or modify exiting tools, create or improve documents or know how’s.   • NDN Project has been selected as an organization for Google Summer of Code 2019

Code Releases

  • NDN Android version 0.6.5-2, based on the latest version of NFD (0.6.5)

    • Persistent notification and run NFD service in foreground to improve stability
    • Multicast face support
    • Creation of a route using FaceId
    • Support of self-learning strategy (currently, only for data with /sl prefix)
  • PSync 0.1.0 release

    We are pleased to announce the initial release of PSync. PSync is a name synchronization library that supports partial sync and full sync. Detailed information can be found in the release notes

  • Interim updates of NDN-CCL libraries. For a detailed list of all the changes, see the CHANGELOG in each library:

  • NLSR 0.5.0 release

    We are pleased to announce the release of version 0.5.0 of Named-data Link State Routing Protocol (NLSR). Detailed information can be found in the release notes

  • ndnSIM 2.7 release

    We released ndnSIM 2.7, based on the latest released versions of NS-3 (version 3.29) and NFD (version 0.6.5). Detailed information can be found in the release notes
