Awards
- From the NSF/Intel Partnership on Information-Centric Networking in Wireless Edge Networks (ICN-WEN) program:
- PIs Alex Afanasyev, Jeff Burke, Jason Cong, Mario Gerla, Songwu Lu, Satyajayant Misra, and Lixia Zhang received an award “ICN-Enabled Secure Edge Networking with Augmented Reality (ICE-AR)” aims to develop a new wireless network architecture to address limitations in performance, scalability, and availability and provide pervasive support for emerging applications.
- PR Kumar, Srinivas Shakkottai and I-Hong Hou (TAMU), Ness Shroff and Atilla Eryilmaz (OSU), Y. Charlie Hu and Elisa Bertino (Purdue), Patrick Crowley (WUSTL), and Romit Roy Choudhury (UIUC) received “SPLICE: Secure Predictive Low-Latency Information Centric Edge for Next Generation Wireless Networks” to design, develop, and demonstrate SPLICE that will provide information guarantees to emerging applications.
- From the NSF CC* Integration program:
- PIs Edmund Yeh, Harvey Newman, and Christos Papadopoulos received an NSF award for “SANDIE: SDN-Assisted NDN for Data Intensive Experiments” that will develop and deploy SANDIE, a Named Data Networking (NDN) architecture supported by advanced Software Defined Network services for Data Intensive Science, with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) high energy physics program as the leading use case.
Community Outreach
- The Intel-NSF ICN-WEN Kickoff Workshop was held June 21-22, 2017 in Hilsboro, OR. The workshop hosted an NDN tutorial as well as presentations from project participants. Tutorial videos and presentation slides can be found on the ICN-Enabled Secure Edge Networking with Augmented Reality (ICE-AR) website.
- On Monday August 21, 2017 the NDN team conducted a one-day SIGCOMM tutorial presenting an introduction to the architectural concepts, recent research results, demonstrations of the NDN testbed and a set of NDN applications, introductions to the open-source codebase and code development, experimental tools, NDN emulator, mini-NDN, an NDN simulator, and discussed future development.
