BIO:
Yuki Koizumi is an assistant professor of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka University, Japan. He received Master of Information Science and Ph.D. of Information Science degrees from Osaka University, Japan, in 2006 and 2009, respectively. His current research interests include information centric networking and mobile networking.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Our research interests include high-performance and energy-efficient caching and name-based forwarding and designing NDN-based 4G/5G cellular networks, especially, mobility management architecture on NDN-based 5G/4G cellular networks.
NDN Plans:
Among the above-mentioned our research interests, we are planning to use NDN for mobility management in 4G/5G cellular networks. We believe that cellular networks is one of the most promising infrastructure for accommodating the Internet of Things (IoT) devices. However, the current mobility management mechanism in 4G networks are too complicated to accommodate a lot of IoT devices. We believe that introducing NDN to cellular networks is a promising solution since NDN naturally supports client mobility and its simple name-based forwarding. We proposed a basic architecture that enables to use names instead of IP addresses for communicating with IoT devices in cellular networks in and currently extending it and designing the architecture for NDN-based cellular networks.
